TM44 - Air Conditioning Inspections
What is TM44?
TM44 is also known as an air conditioning energy assessment and is a legal requirement set out by the European Union. Any premises utilising a combined total of 12kw of cooling or more legally require a mandatory inspection every 5 years which means that all air conditioning and HVAC equipment will need to have a valid TM44 certificate on demand with penalties of up to £300 for failure to produce the correct documentation upon request.
Why do we need TM44?
Qualified assessors test all cooling equipment, making sure that it operates in line with all current energy regulations. The objective is to make sure that energy consumption is kept to a minimum which will also benefit the operators of the equipment and the environment.
